Zoo FC team manager Lazarus Yogo has patted his players on the shoulder after they fought to a 1-0 win over visiting Kakamega Homeboyz in their Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match Saturday 7 October.
It was midfielder Danson Chetambe who slotted home the all-important goal in the 38th minute, a goal they would later guard to pick maximum points from the match.
This was Zoo's first match since being reinstated to the KPL by the Court of Appeal and Yogo says defeating Homeboyz was vital for his side after days of uncertainty.
"I want to thank the players for the win, Homeboyz isn't an easy opponent and beating them is a big statement from the team after the problems we've faced in recent weeks," he said as quoted by Futaa.
"It wasn't an easy match because Homeboyz in currently on good form but the boys showed resilience to win the game and this gives us a good footing going forward," he added.
Zoo now sit 13th in the log with 32 points.
