Kenya Premier League side Ulinzi Stars will be hoping to find a magical wand ahead of their season opener against Kericho Zoo at the Afraha Stadium this Friday.
The Kericho based side had a near- dominant outcome against the Soldiers last season winning one of the fixtures before drawing the other and will be hoping to extend the same in the Friday meeting.
Despite a not-so-active engagement in the transfer window, Zoo has managed to keep hold of their best players among them Nicholas Kipkurui and triple KPL winner Michael Madoya whom they hope will do the damaging against the Soldiers.
Ulinzi, on the other hand, lost some of their prolific stars last season after top marksman Stephen Waruru and Sammy Onyango ditched the club for Sofapaka and Gor Mahia respectively.
To add to their woes is the unavailability of veteran defender Geoffrey Kokoyo who will be attending a mandatory military engagement.
However, they managed to bring in former Nzoia Sugar wonderboy Masita Masuta who also has a sight for goal aside from other stars like Oscar Njika and Boniface Andayi.
The Soldiers recently squandered a lead against Posta Rangers to settle for a two-all draw against Posta Rangers in a friendly match and head coach Dunstan Nyaudo expressed reservations over the state of his defence promising to shore it up.
