Zoo's win against visiting Thika United was not just good news to them but also helped save two more teams from the relegation nightmare.
The result was good news to Nakumatt and Chemelil Sugar who were automatically bracketed out of the relegation zone, leaving behind Thika, Western Stima and Mathare United.
The win propelled Zoo to 12th position with 40 points and left Chemilil and Nakumatt 13th and 14th with 39 points each.
Thika and Stima have 35 points and each could rise to tie with Mathare at 38 in case they win and the latter loses.
To escape relegation, Mathare need at least a point against their next opponents Posta Rangers or pray that either Stima or Thika lose their next match.
