The first day of the Mombasa International Show is traditionally marked as the Governor's Day at the show.

However, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, who was expected at the 5-day event to grace it on Wednesday, skipped the annual ASK show and instead sent his deputy, Dr William Kingi.

In the company of the of the ASK national chairperson Anabel Kiriinya, Kingi visited several stands of the show.

The Mombasa International show offers a great platform for exchange of information between players and investors in Agriculture, Trade and Tourism sectors. 

"With the kind of exhibitions I witnessed in the different stands at the show, I am convinced that the show has lived to its theme," he said.

The level of innovation and creativity showcased by the exhibitors and especially in the Agricultural sector, Kingi said will surely bring remarkable improvement to farming methods and thus great rewards to farmers. 

"I hope that our farmers shall take this show as a great learning opportunity to learn on new methods and as well new market penetration techniques."

Kingi passed his appreciation to the County Government of Mombasa Show organizing committee for a work well done. 

"The illustrations of our gains since devolution is incredible. It is my sincere plea to all our citizens to find time and visit the county government stands at the show, we have made available all information regarding our current and future development plans at the county stand," he said.

The DG also congratulated the County Departments Stand for emerging the best stand in the show.
