Petitioner Bernard Kibor had filed a case at the apex court to challenge the decision of the Court of Appeal to overturn a High Court ruling made on March 1, that the MP was not validly elected as he engaged in electoral malpractices among them campaigning beyond stipulated time.

In its ruling on Friday, the Supreme Court affirmed the Court of Appeal's decision to uphold the election of the vocal Jubilee MP noting that the petitioner did not provide sufficient evidence that Keter engaged in election malpractice by campaigning beyond the stipulated time.

The Supreme Court ruling brings to an end the court battle that had threatened to cut short Keter’s political career.

Keter who is serving his second term in parliament has fallen out with Deputy President William Ruto.
