Embattled Migori governor Okoth Obado can now breathe a sigh of relief after the High Court accepted to review his bond terms.
This follows a successful petition by the governor to have his bond terms reviewed as they were limiting him from successfully carrying out his operations.
In a ruling made by Justice Jessie Lessit, the court allowed Governor Obado to freely move within the borders of Migori County.
Justice Lessit ruled that the purpose for the bail conditions set against the governor had been served hence the need to lift the ban.
"The purpose of the bail condition set by this court has been served and the governor is now free to move freely within the county and its boundaries," she said in her ruling on Tuesday.
Obado is fighting to be off the hook after he was charged alongside his aides Michael Oyamon and Caspal Obiero over the death of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.
The court had earlier banned the governor from accessing his rural home in Rapogi after ruling that he could not move 20 kilometres from Homa Bay County where murdered Rongo University student hailed from.
