Senator Kipchumba Murkomen's Liaison officer and former MCA who had reportedly been kidnapped by unknown people in Eldoret, has been found dead.
The lifeless body was found in Kamatira forest in West Pokot County on Saturday.
On his Facebook page, the Senate Majority Leader condoled with the family of the deceased. He also condemned the murder.
"I am shattered. I am in so much pain. My friend and brother Hon Pastor Benson Kiptire former MCA Kapyego Ward has been murdered. Benson was my Liaison officer. I am still on shock. Please pray for his wife, children and ailing mother," he said.
Former Marakwet West legislative aspirant Benson Cheserek also condemned the heinous murder of the former MCA.
"Profound sadness and shock and beyond. My friend, relative and former MCA Kapyego Ward killed in Kamatira forest, West Pokot," he said.
The news come barely a day after reports went round that the former MCA had been whisked away by people believed to be police officers from his shop in Eldoret on Friday.
His disappearance sparked widespread concern from local leaders and close allies who called for speedy investigation into the incident.
