Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has hit out at former Jubilee interim Vice Chairman David Murathe after he confessed that the party's 2017 nominations were bungled.
Speaking during an exclusive interview on Citizen TV, Murathe revealed that some strong candidates were rigged out and pointed an accusing finger at Deputy President William Ruto who is the ruling party's deputy leader.
"I watched as Jubilee through the help of deputy president manipulated party nomination and there was nothing I could do," the former Gatanga MP said on Tuesday night.
Reacting to the remarks, Kabogo criticised the former Jubilee Party chief for discussing on live TV matters that have remained secret for about two years now.
"Murathe confirms they rigged party nominations in 2017. What a shame washing dirty linen in public," he posted on Twitter.
Kabogo has repeatedly claimed the Jubilee nominations were rigged, adding that Ruto was the force behind his loss to the current Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
"I didn't lose. They rigged me out simply because I was a threat to their political aspirations," he said during Citizen TV's JKL Show four months ago.
Asked whether the DP was the reason he lost in the exercise, the flamboyant politician didn't mince his words.
"Definitely yes. He was in charge of the exercise. He had an interest. He may have done that be it instructions from elsewhere but nobody can stop Athi River from flowing," Kabogo remarked.
