Ruto was on Friday at the Kitale Showground for the celebrations to mark Bishop Samuel Thiong'o's 50th year of service at the Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) church.

Other leaders present were Kapseret parliamentarian and Ruto's close ally Oscar Sudi and his Saboti counterpart Caleb Amisi who is however allied to the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

In his message, Ruto urged politicians to shun politicking and the 2022 election debate and concentrate on service delivery.

"Elections are over and it is now time to work together regardless of party affiliations to change Kenya for the benefit of our people,” he was quoted by the People Daily.

On his side, Ngunjiri said that the parliament will work hand in hand with the central government in attempting to solve Kenyans' shortcomings.

This comes only a few weeks after Ngunjiri made a U-turn on President Uhuru after their initial scuffle where he condemned the president for allegedly plotting to betray Ruto.

He claimed that the closeness between Uhuru and opposition leader Raila Odinga could be a lot to scuttle Ruto's 2022 presidential dreams.
