A section of North Rift politicians has recently come to the defence of Deputy President William Ruto.
This is after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho launched a fresh attack at the DP over his 2022 presidential ambitions.
Joho who is the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader has claimed that his boss, Raila Odinga had tasked him to fight the DP.
As a way of hitting back, three politicians from the region who are close allies of DP have now linked the vocal county boss to drug trafficking.
The three are;
Oscar Sudi
The outspoken Kapseret legislator is the recent politician who has responded to Joho’s claims. Sudi included Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who had come out to support Joho and said that the two are business partners.
“We are also aware that Babu Owino was a close associate of Joho at the helm of the rampant drug business,” said Sudi in a Facebook post.
Stephen Sang
The youthful Nandi governor has maintained that Joho is actively involved in the drug business which is destroying the future of young people in the country. Sang says that Joho should be the last person to question anybody on matters involving integrity.
Samson Cherargei
The vocal Nandi senator is a close confidant of DP Ruto and a staunch supporter of his 2022 presidential bid. On his part he said; "The DP is a PhD holder my friend. He is not your equal. We are the ones to answer you not him. You have a lot of problems. You are even sought after by an American agency due to your illegal business.”
