As Parliament resumed its sittings in Nairobi on Tuesday, February 12, the County Assembly of Mombasa also resumed its sitting after a long December holiday recess.

During the first sitting led by Speaker Aharub Khatri, the House adopted the Appointment of County Assembly Business Committee by the Leader of Majority Party, Hamisi Mwidani.

Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Orders 152(d), the County Assembly approved the appointment of the following Members to the County Assembly Business Committee: 

1. Aharub Khatri - Chairman

2. Hamisi Musa Mwidani

3. Ramla Said Omar 

4. Mohamed Hatimy 

5. Cvilizer Aran Moses

6. Ahmed Khamis Salim

Before going for recess last year, the County Assembly of Mombasa passed a motion by MCA Mohammed Hatimy on the Adoption of Tuk Tuk Operators Rules. 

Members agreed that the motion will be able to regulate road transport safety measures as well as enhance security within the County.
