While responding to recent utterances by Jubilee party Vice Chairman David Murathe that DP Ruto should retire from active politics together with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, Kositany termed the statement as reckless.

Speaking largely in vernacular at his constituency on Saturday, Kositany, a close ally of DP Ruto further termed Murathe's statement as part of the architects' mudslinging the self-proclaimed hustler to hinder him from ascending to the presidency in 2022.

“You have heard the likes of Murathe what they are peddling in Western against Ruto. He is part of an anti-Ruto movement working hard to scuttle his political ambition. I accept that Ruto has no debt with anyone and that’s ok. In the next government no one will boast claiming that he played responsibility to make him president,” noted the first-time Jubilee MP.

He further insisted that DP Ruto will be collectively be elected by Kenyans based on his achievements and not anyone's favour.

Kositany sentiments came after various DP Rutos’ allies including Senator Kiprotich Cheraragei (Nandi) and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi hit out at Murathe who had also noted that there was no Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Kalenjin and Mt Kenya communities ahead of 2022.
