Church followers who attended the burial ceremony condemned the priest's killing saying the killers will not know peace.
"No one will live forever. Whoever who killed Ondari will have a troublesome life," said Mary Kemunto.
Another faithful Catherine Moraa urged Kenyan authorities to ensure the family of the slain priest gets justice.
"Kenyan government must not keep quiet now that we are burying the priest who was killed while on duty. The killers must be brought to book," said Moraa.
Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who also attended the burial ceremony comforted the family saying God's decision should not be questioned.
"He died a painful death which was unexpected but, we are praying God to rest his soul in peace," said Maangi.
The Deputy Governor warned police officers against misusing their guns saying guns must be used when dealing with criminals and not unarmed people.
