Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot castigated Suba South MP John Mbadi for playing politics with gold scam issue, which, according to him needs to be treated with utmost seriousness.
In his official Twitter handle, the lawmaker argued that Zaheer was not a Kenyan and therefore, political name calling and blame games amongst the country's political leaders do not concern him (Zaheer) in any way.
"Somebody tell John Mbadi, the Sheikh is not a Kenyan," read part of the post.
The youthful Senator claimed that the usual political disagreement between the two major political parties, Jubilee and ODM, will not attract the attention of the Arabic trader since it may not help in addressing the problems occasioned by the scandal.
"You cannot bait him with Jubilee / ODM faction wars," argued Cheruiyot.
The Sheikh's interest, legislator noted, was full compensation on what he lost during the exchange in form of, either the gold that he was defrauded of or the money equivalent to the same.
"It's the money or the Gold," remarked the Senator.
On May 21, Suba MP John Mbadi told the press that legislators allied to William Ruto were hatching a plot to impeach the Interior CS Fred Matiang'i over the gold scam involving Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
"They have nothing against Raila. Their main aim is to impeach Dr Matiang'i. They are busy finding a way of bringing him down. We know their moves," remarked Mbadi.
Mbadi opined they were trying to frame Matiang'i in the mentioned fraud, then demand his resignation after painting his name in a bad light.
