Detectives probing the murder of Kiambu businesswoman Mary Wambui have made headway in unearthing the mystery surrounding the incident after they nabbed a man suspected of ferrying the body to where it was discovered.
Wambui's body was found dumped near a dam in Juja on Sunday, January 26.
According to the Nation, it is alleged that the suspect used a Toyota Noah to ferry the slain businesswoman's body from Four Ways Junction estate along Kiambu Road, where Wambui is said to have met her death.
The house at Four Ways Junction belongs to Judy Wangui, a key suspect in the case who is also said to be the girlfriend to the deceased's husband Joseph Kori. The two are being detained at the Juja Police Station.
Fresh details revealed by a source quoted by the local daily indicate that the driver went to Wangui’s residence on that fateful night at around midnight and left a few minutes later.
He is reported to have driven to Juja where he left at 2am.
"After checking in at Four Ways, his movements showed that he left and went directly to Juja, where he left at 2am and was in constant communication with Judy,” said the source.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned before the Kiambu Law Courts this week.
