It is said that one will know his/her true friends during the most trying moments in life. Those who will remain by our side no matter how hard situations could be, are definitely our true friends.
For Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, the alleged gold scam has come to haunt him with netizens taking the chance to publicly roast him.
Among those who have have mocked the flashy Senator is Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, who has has called the government to accord him 24-hour police surveillance to stop him from committing suicide.
However, it has only taken one city politician to send a word of encouragement to the embattled senator. It is apparent that Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris could be Wetangula's only living true friend.
In a statement, Passaris empathized with the Ford Kenya party leader, stating that he should not be subjected to public condemnation unheard. She, however, prayed that he does not contemplate suicide as an option amid ridicule and pressure from Kenyans on social media.
"I pray he won't take his life. Let us not assume he is guilty because of social media push and pull. My question to you as a lawyer is if you have faith in our judicial processes and structures? Social/mainstream media is but a reflection of the man eat man society we are," the outspoken Woman Rep stated.
