Nominated Senator Milicent Omanga on Saturday attacked the ODM party after its National Governing Council (NGC) officially expelled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the Raila Odinga-led political party.
Omanga, in a statement, slammed the party saying Aisha Jumwa was unfairly targeted especially after her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori was spared despite facing similar accusations.
Below is the Jubilee senator's statement:

"There's no doubt Malindi MP Hon Aisha Jumwa is one of the fast-rising women leaders in this country. She is strong-willed, has a rare gift of the garb and is amazingly talented.
Her expulsion from ODM is thus unfortunate and punctures the credibility of ODM as a party that parades itself as a foremost promoter of democracy and women leadership.
We must call ODM's bluff for unfairly targeting Aisha and going a step further to expel her on very flimsy grounds.
It's unbelievable that even though another ODM MP, Suleiman Dori, faced similar accusations, he was spared the axe. Isn't this witch-hunt and unfair treatment of women? It's abhorrent and unacceptable.
I encourage my sister Aisha to fight it all away and shame her detractors.
As for ODM and its owners, stop this hypocrisy! It stinks."
