Kilifi Governor Amason Jefah Kingi led the Mijikenda cmmunity in marking 2018 version of the Chenda Chenda Cultural Festival at the Karisa Maitha grounds.
Kilifi North MP Owen Baya who was present, hailed Kingi, saying he has greatly helped in preserving the Mijikenda community's culture.
On his part, Kingi said Coast region's rich cultural heritage as the Mijikenda Community is a source of pride and an identity of who they are. "Celebrating our culture is a focal point for unity in diversity. Embracing our heritage will help to showcase our unique traditions, create a platform for us to pass these traditions to the young generation as well as to embrace various counterparts thereby solidifying relationships among our communities," he said during his address to participants.Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa also attended the Chenda Chenda Cultural Festival at the Karisa Maitha grounds in Kilifi Town.Below are amazing photos from the festival.
