After launching the Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) exercise three weeks ago, Mombasa County Executive for Finance and Economic Planning Maryam Mbaruk together with Chief Officer Asha Abdi, Revenue Officers and RRI team leaders drawn from different departments met to review the progress of the activity as well as tackle emerging challenges.
The Tuesday meeting which was chaired by the County Secretary Francis Thoya saw team leaders giving separate accounts of the exercise in their respective jurisdictions in the sub-counties, identifying the loopholes that have been hampering revenue collection among various streams as well as sharing ideas on how to overcome them.

The team was congratulated for putting their best efforts towards ensuring more revenue is collected and agreed to venture into all revenue streams in the coming days in order to realise the County's set revenue target.
Mbaruk urged the business community and members of the public to accord the revenue officers necessary support by complying and making their payment in good time to avoid penalties.
Mombasa County Government is seeking to increase its revenue so as to further finance it's development projects.
