The late Sharon has not been laid to rest, but there were suggestions that the fetus, Sharon's baby be laid to rest first. 

Among those in court include  Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, who has come in support of his fellow governor. 

2:30 pm The court still waiting on judge Jessy Lessit to commence the hearing. 

Many of Obado's supporters, family and friends could not fit in the court and were forced to wait outside.

Mr. Elvis Okoth Omondi, a policeman assigned to guard Mr Obado

 journalist Barrack Oduor who was with Sharon during a said abduction

Facts about the case

Sharon is said to have bled to death after she was stabbed eight times, four on her back, one on her lowe abdomen and three on her neck 

There is an argument that if one of the suspects is released, then all the others will be released as well. 

The prosecution team argues that Obado's release might affect the ongoing investigations into the case, while the governor's team wants him released on bail as they pursue the case. 

Alexander Muteti, who is leading the prosecution team said Obado might be facing second charges of killing the unborn baby. if they pursue this, then the governor will be facing two counts of murder cases. 

Officers investigating the case concluded that Governor Obado is the father of the late Sharon's baby after DNA checks.

Lawyers present include Cliff Ombeta and Nicholas Ombija, who are in charge of the team defending Governor Obado. 

He has become the first governor to be charged with murder charges. 

2:00 pm the hearing is set to start, with the governor set to know his fate on whether he will be released on bail.
