President Uhuru Kenyatta has demanded answers on what happened between Deputy President William Ruto and Interior PS Karanja Kibicho on Wednesday night at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
According to reports, Ruto and Kibicho clashed when they were waiting to receive the President who was arriving from Kigali, Rwanda.
Ruto is said to have confronted the PS over his alleged interference of county commissioner's to an extent of barring them from attending the DP's functions.
State House sources who spoke to the Standard said the head of state has asked for an explanation on the matter.
“The President wants to know what exactly transpired,” said the source.
People Daily said a furious Ruto wanted to know why Kibicho was 'sabotaging' his movements in the country.
“And for close to 15 minutes, a visibly angry Ruto is said to have engaged the PS wanting to know why he had allegedly instructed county commissioners and police commanders not to provide security at his functions. A source, who was present during the “lecture”, said the DP cautioned Kibicho not to use his office to coerce administrators on the ground to frustrate his 2022 presidential bid,” the paper reported.
