The officials have promised action on the school’s administration and teachers involved if the incident is proved to have taken place in the school.

Gilgil sub-county commissioner Ndambuki Mutheki, however, said investigations will be done to establish the authenticity of the tape as the school’s principal Samuel Maina ‘has denied that those are his students’.

In the video that has since gone viral, students are seen showing whip marks and bruises that were reportedly inflicted on them by a group of teachers during a ‘disciplinary parade’.

One of the students is said to have sent his parents the clip before it was posted on social media and went viral.

Parents called for action on the teachers involved as they lamented that ‘it was not the first time we are hearing of students’ assault in the school’.
