With the political rivalry pitting Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto getting hotter each day, it is apparent that Raila could have resolved to use powerful female politicians to tame Ruto's growing popularity.
In the past few days, more and more politicians are apparently shifting camps either in support or in opposition to Raila and Ruto respectively.
However, these three women have come out to fiercely attack Ruto while supporting the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the ODM boss.
1. Sabina Chege
The Murang'a Woman Representative is the latest to ditch DP Ruto. At a political event attended by at least 25 legislators in Kenol on Friday, Chege took a swipe at DP Ruto and his team, accusing them of sabotaging Uhuru's big four development agenda through unwarranted early campaigns.
2. Rachel Shebesh
It is apparent that the former Nairobi Woman Representative is a thorn in the flesh for the DP. This week alone, Shebesh led at least 25 female politicians to a meeting with Raila Odinga. On Tuesday this week, Shebesh held talks with Odinga at the Capitol Hill offices. He had backed his presidential ambitions way back in April.
3. Mishi Mboko
The Likoni politician is one of Raila Odinga's fiery supporters and an all-time critic of Ruto. In the Coast region where DP Ruto has apparently infiltrated, to the extent of winning Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, Mishi remains to be Raila's only hope to tame Ruto.
