This comes after the prosecution asked for more time to carry out investigations into the murder case.

Nakuru Senior Resident Magistrate Faith Munyi ordered the accused to be remanded at the station until April 2 to allow further investigations.

“I authorise the OCS Bahati Police Station to remand you at the station for 10 working days until April 2, 2019, and thereafter release you or take you to court,” said Magistrate Munyi.

Police reports indicate that the woman, identified as Sharon Wangari, was found by residents lying unconscious on the floor with stab wounds, minutes after allegedly killing her five-year-old daughter.

It is believed that Wangari, a retail shop owner, attempted to commit suicide after allegedly committing the crime on Sunday, March 16, 2019.

Bahati Sub-County Police Commander Jane Mwarania said Wangari was later taken to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital for treatment.
