Last week arrest of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu over corruption-related charges continues to cause fear in the Jubilee administration.
Mwilu’s arrest and arraignment in court over corruption offenses shocked many in government circles.
The DCJ arrest sends a message that no one is safe in the ongoing purge on corruption.
As the dust is yet to settle on Mwilu’s arrest, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji is said to be eyeing to order for the arrest of more top government officials implicated in graft scandals.
Last week during a press briefing with journalists at his NSS office in Nairobi, Haji asked Kenyans to expect more top arrests.
The DPP said that his office is studying and reviewing high voltage corruption cases involving top officials and will be making arrest orders and prosecution soon.
Confidential sources say that DPP Haji could order for the arrest of top Cabinet Sectaries (CSs) allegedly implicated in corruption scandals.
The source says that the DPP is for the second time reviewing a file on Ruaraka land scam that has implicated some top officials.
The DPP had received the file in June but returned it to the EACC for clarification on certain issues.
“He (DPP) shall be making statements soon on some files that touch on top officials,” the confidential source said on Sunday.
DPP Haji says that he is a fearless sin the war against corruption.
He says that his office is independent and is not being influenced by anyone.
“We derive out the mandate from the constitution and no one is influencing us on who to arrest and charge in court,” he said last week.
Kenyans have praised praise on the man from Garissa county asking him to continue the purge on graft.
