Led by Deputy President William Ruto's allies from the North Rift, team 'Tanga Tanga'  has been regarding the handshake a threat to their 2022 State House ambition.

However, a renowned political analyst from Mt Kenya region, Edward Kabuya has come out to claim the handshake is steadily 'killing' Raila's politics.

Kabuya who was speaking at Kameme FM maintained that the handshake has denied Raila a chance to actively engage in politics ahead of 2022.

"Uhuru has killed Raila politically in the mighty handshake. If he (Raila) still holds the thought of clinching the presidency, then, he should just forget. He has been restrained from engaging in politics," said the analyst.

Amid the claims, DP Ruto's allies have been attacking the Raila brigade in what has been interpreted as 2022 politics at play.

Oh his part, the DP has maintained that his campaigns remain unstoppable. While speaking at Kameme FM on Thursday, Ruto stated that not a single person including State House operatives would block his path.

For the opposition, it is still unclear if Raila will make it to the ballot come 2022 although the ODM party maintains that they will front a candidate in the next election.
