Two months ago, a twenty-nine-year-old man was found dangling from the woodwork of a construction site in the vicinity of the institution. 

He is said to have opted for suicide after a long battle with depression.

The man was the boyfriend of a fourth-year Moi University Linguistics, Media and Communication student.

About three weeks ago, a fourth-year student with just weeks to finish his studies, was stabbed to death. 

Felix Oduor was stabbed multiple times after an altercation with another student. 

Investigations into the brutal killing are ongoing with suspects being behind bars. 

The most recent death is that of Ivy Wangeci.

Wangeci, a sixth-year medicine student was hacked to death with an axe allegedly by a spurned lover.

Her death which happened on Tuesday has sparked a heated debate on social media platforms. 

Investigations are ongoing even as conspiracy theories abound.

Shocking not just in their nature but frequency, the deaths have triggered questions from Kenyans about what could be behind them. 

Moi University boasts a number of schools and a huge student population drawn from across the country.
