In a video posted on his Facebook account, Ringtone disclosed that he had gone to the hills to pray to God to grant him a life partner.

He expressed confidence that God will answer his prayers.

"Watu wa Mungu, Niko Mlima Ngong nalilia Mungu kwa sababu natafuta mchumba naomba mke na najua Mungu atatimiza maombi yangu (People of God, I'm here at Ngong Hills because I am looking for a partner. I'm praying for a wife and I know God will answer my prayers)," said Ringtone.

He said that he chose to pray at Ngong Hills because of the presence of the seven small hills, adding that seven represents the number of God.

"Nimechagua Mlima Ngong kwa sababu kuna vijilima vingine vidogo saba ambao ni namba ya Mungu, Asanteni kwa kusimama na mimi (I chose Ngong Hills because there are seven small hills which is the number of God. Thank you for supporting me)," he said.

The video elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans, with a section of them urging him to press on and not to give up, while others castigated him.

This comes after the artist was arrested on Monday outside the Co-operative University.

The controversial musician was standing outside the institution holding a placard with the text 'Looking for a wife' written on it.
