While some have dismissed the allegations as a political strategy to win 'sympathy' votes in the 2022 general election, others have asked top security chiefs to take the claims seriously, since they can make the country fall apart.

According to political analyst Arnold Maliba, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti should consider the alleged murder plot a top case, and act swiftly.

Speaking during Side Bar segment on NTV, Maliba asked Kinoti to investigate the claims, despite the DP failing to record an official statement on the matter.

The analyst observed that should Ruto be eliminated, just like President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenya will literally burn.

"You cannot touch Uhuru Kenyatta and remain with a country. You cannot touch Ruto and remain with a country," he said on Tuesday night.

Speaking during the same show, South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro echoed Maliba's sentiments, and asked the government to probe the matter, and offer the DP more protection.

"Succession politics in this country has a history. When you hear anyone raise an alarm about their lives, you need not assume that because every life matters," the first-time legislator said.

The remarks come amid reports that Ruto has vowed not to record his side of story unless the report is taken by DCI Kinoti himself.

The top cop had on Monday delegated the case to the head of Economic Crime Unit Michael Sang who was reportedly snubbed by the second in command.
