Tv actress Wanjiku Mburu alias Mama Baha of Machachari a program that used to run on Citizen Tv has blamed the government for not helping her family trace her brother whom she alleged was abducted 6years back in Mogadishu, Somalia on January 2014.
Tracing back her letter to the President, Wanjiku has painfully explained how the journey has been, noting down some crucial statement that she wrote seeking help from President Uhuru Kenyatta since August 2017 adding that nothing has been done up to date.
Mama Baha said that her brother flew to Mogadishu, Somalia back in 2014 where he laboured as an engineer only to receive calls days after that his brother George together with her cousin Mash had been abducted.
Revealing their painful journey as a family, Wanjiku expounded that since 2014 they have been seeking help from the government adding that at one time they even made a call to the relevant department concerned with foreign matters, only to be informed that there was a crucial meeting and that they were to be called later,
“Well that’s until we told them why we were really there and no sooner did they hear us, there were promises of immediate action...there was “call me 1st thing in the morning...” which I did and this was the narrative...in hushed tones, I was told...“I am in a meeting I’ll call you later...” this went on for a while until they no longer bothered to pick my calls...," Wanjiku explained.
This marking 6 years since the sad incident occurred, Wanjiku has lately uploaded a 15-minute video in her YouTube describing her family’s pain.
Wanjiku has told that it has not been easy as it keeps lingering in their mind like a nightmare. The actress says the government has since prevailed in silently about the matter and that no limelight hoping that the President would listen and help them track their brother George back as he did with the recently 2cuban doctors who had been abducted in Somali.
Wanjiku has explained that the ransom demanded to help trace their brother is too high that they cannot manage alone even if they were to sell everything including their body parts seeking help from Kenyans,
"....would you help my fellow Kenyans," Wanjiku posed.
