There was drama on Sunday evening at Pwani University the institution's students' president Fikirini Jacobs was arrested by police officers at Kilifi County Referral Hospital.
Mr Fikirini was arrested in the company of two other students just a few hours after a third year student Naomi Chepkemboi was stabbed several times at the university by his alleged lover, and was admitted at the hospital where she is receiving medication.
The police accused the student leader of causing unnecessary disturbance at the hospital after storming the medical facility demanding for quick treatment of the injured student citing laxity of nurses.
Mr Fikirini was, however, released after being held at the Kilifi police station for a short time.
“Released! I am safe and sound. Only concerned with the health of Naomi Chepkemboi. I will be updating you on the treatment progress.Good evening,” Fikirini Jacobs posted on Facebook.
