For the past few weeks, rebellion against Deputy President William Ruto has been brewing in North Rift with Gideon Moi's Kenya African National Union (KANU) proving to be the better option.
At least two governors allied to Jubilee party have publicly declared intention to work with the Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, blaming a section of Ruto's allies for their bitter treatment.
Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Alex Tolgos are on record siding with the KANU party even as sources indicate they will fully decamp in 2022.
Since their public declarations, KANU has apparently 'ressurected' raising the questions whether they had something to do with it.
At one time, governor Chepkwony described Senator Moi as being a gentleman and so was his decision to work with him.
On his part, Governor Tolgos while affirming support for KANU, blamed his Senator Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen for being insultive.
Amid the political realignments ahead of 2022, the duo's political fate still lies at an awkward position given the fact that their terms are expiring with no possibility of renewal as per the constitutional demands.
However, speculation is rife that governors Chepkwony and Tolgos may vie for senatorial positions come 2022.
