According to Sonko, politics should not be involved in the war against corruption.

The embattled governor further shared photos of various documents including an affidavit, contract award letters among others.

EACC in its affidavit had indicated that the governor received the money from four companies after awarding them with contracts without following the required procedure.

Governor Sonko had initially moved to the court in a bid to stop the EACC from investigation him

He cited that the EACC's investigation had been compromised and termed it as a 'witch-hunt'.

His request was however turned down.

An investigation into the corruption allegations levelled against Sonko were transferred to the anti-corruption division of the High Court.
