Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi says that a race between Deputy President William Ruto and ODM party leader Raila Odinga in 2022 will be a fascinating two horse race.
In a tweet on Saturday, Ahmednasir said that DP Ruto will be competing in the race as an 'outsider'.
However, he said that Raila enjoys the incumbency advantage (handshake).
"Ruto v Raila in 2022 can be a fascinating & frightening 2 horse race. Ruto will run as an outsider, anti-estab candidate, pro-change, reform cand. Raila enjoys the incumbency adv (handshake), will be the establishment blue-eyed mzee, runs on Uhuru's legacy & status quo @makaumutua," Ahmednasir tweeted.
In response, Makau Mutua told Ahmednasir that DP Ruto should quit.
"In that case @WilliamsRuto MUST leave Jubilee first. Does he have the balls to walk away?" Mutua stated.
This happen after Raila said it clear that not even for once has he said that he is going to join the race come 2022.
Speaking during a Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally in Kisii a few weeks ago, Raila said that it is not a must he be Kenya's president.
''2022 is going to be an event, it will come and go, but Kenya will continue. That is what BBI stands for. Raila Odinga dose not have to be the president of Kenya, but Kenya must have a good president," the ODM leader said.
