President Uhuru Kenyatta's security guards after all slapped Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika on Wednesday, Njoro MP Charity Kathambi has confirmed.

Earlier, Senator Kihika seemed to have denied the claims, insisting that a post circulating on social media purportedly from her was fake.

"I have this morning seen the following post making rounds on social media. It’s a FAKE post from a fake Facebook page. Treat it with the contempt it deserves," she said.

But according to Kathambi, the security guards, a man and a woman, ordered MCAs out of the line where the President was set to be received.

“The two ordered that no MCA should be on the line when they came back. The MCAs, despite it being their day obliged and moved away,” said Kathambi.

And when the guards came back, they thought Senator Kihika, a former speaker, was also an MCA, prompting the woman officer to slap her.

“When the two came back they found the Senator on the line. They thought she was one of the MCAs. The male security officer shouted at her ‘yaani MCAs hamsikii’ as he pushed her away,” said Kathambi.

“The security guys didn’t know who is who. It was unfortunate that this brought about the confusion. However, the Senator took no offence and has not complained about it,” said Arama.

The incident was mistaken for the fact that Kihika may have been harassed given that she is supposedly opposed to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
