Deputy President William Ruto has asserted that the political mobilization meant in spearheading the amendment of the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) report is only meant to misuse government resources.
Speaking in Emuhaya and Tongaren constituencies on Friday where he led empowerment programmes in Esibakala Primary School and Musembe Secondary School, Deputy President William Ruto asserted that the BBI public meetings are a ruin of public money and time.
"Now a new game of political mobilisation has been initiated. What are all these campaigns for? Who do they want to persuade? Is it a way of misusing government resources?” he said.
The Deputy President added that they had earlier agreed to have enough copies to supply to the public so that they can read for themselves and form an opinion on their own.
However, contrary to that, campaigns alleged to be educating people on BBI have been launched, which is a bite on taxpayers money.
"We agreed that we look for enough copies of the BBI report so the public can read for themselves and form an opinion on their own. When did it change? Now we are being told that political party leaders should read the report then inform the people about the proposed changes so they can decide for the people. When did it change?"Ruto posed.
