Citizen TV has announced the journalist who will take the place of Hussein Mohamed following his exit from the station.
Reports indicate that Waihiga Mwaura will be the one taking over from Hussein Mohamed who had been working with Citizen TV as a political journalist for 10 years before resigning.
Waihiga who is the BBC 2018 Komlar Dumor Award Winner is expected to take over the News Night as from Tuesday next week.
"He is a journalist of impeccable professional standards and a diligent scribe. He is also engaging, persistent and firm," part of a promo announcing the new changes at the Royal Media Services' TV station read.
Waihiga is also an experienced journalist who has worked on a lot of feature and investigative stories with the latest one that attracted a lot of reactions being the Mara Heist.
Hussein Mohamed announced his exit from Citizen TV citing that he wanted to take a break and focus on something else. On Tuesday night during his last show, Hussein received a lot of tributes not only from his colleagues and fans but also from some of the top politicians in the country including opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Prior to being given the new assignment, Waihiga was hosting the Monday Report together with Trevor Ombija.
Waihiga had not yet commented on the matter as at the time of publication of this article.
