Kenyan social media users have raised concern over the case of Joseph Irungu alias Jowie after Embakasi Member of Parliament Babu Owino was released on cash bail.
A section of Kenyans on Twitter claimed that Jowie's case had been forgotten leading him to suffer in the prison. They want him to be granted bail just like other suspects in similar cases who have been released on bail.
KOT went ahead to use Babu Owino's case in which he is accused of shooting a Dj at a club as a reason for Jowie to be granted bail.
A number of the netizens alleged that the reason for Jowie being denied bail was because he was not of a high social class.
The social media users sympathized with him and demanded the relevant authorities including the Law Society of Kenya to intervene.
This is however not the first time that Kenyan social media users are up in arms over Jowie's case.
A while back when Sarah Wairimu who is suspected of killing her billionaire husband was released on bail, Kenyans took to social media to demanded for Jowie to be granted bail too.
Coincidentally, back then Babu Owino was among those who called for Jowie to be granted bail and even went ahead to point out that he was ready to hire a lawyer for him.
Here are some of the reactions from Twitter;
