Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Wednesday night blamed Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed for being booed while speaking during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report at Bomas of Kenya.
Speaking during an interview with KTN News, Murkomen who is also the Senat Majority Leader questioned the appointment of Junet as the master of ceremony for the event.
According to Murkomen, the MP did not have the capacity to perform the duty of the MC.
"First of all it starts with, that was a national function with the president, the deputy president, former prime minister, and many dignitaries and many Kenyans watching across the country. Unfortunately, to start with, a person who does not have the capacity and the ability to preside that function as an MC was chosen, without and explanation to anybody in this country," the vocal legislator stated.
He further accused Junet Mohamed of creating partisan politics during the national event which was aimed at promoting peace.
"An opportunity was granted to my friend Junet Mohamed and instead of taking advantage of that opportunity to rise above parochial politics and run the program as a national program, he converted it to be a partisan ODM 'Kieleweke' kind of conversation," Mukomen said.
The senator also questioned the criteria which were used in choosing the leaders who spoke at the function.
Murkomen proceeded with his speech despite being booed as he demanded the right to be heard.
