Sarah Wairimu's lawyer has claimed in a letter addressed to the Parklands Police Station OCS that former Gatundu North Member of Parliament Patrick Muiruri insulted and threatened him during Tob Cohen's burial.
The accusations against the former Member of Parliament come after he was involved in a scuffle with the lawyer.
According to a report by Citizen TV, the argument between the two arose when Philip Murgor asked the ex MP's daughter to leave the Jewish cemetery citing that it was restricted to family members only.
The lawyer indicated in the letter dated September 25, 2019, that he was acting on instruction from his client Sarah Wairimu who is Tob Cohen's wife and also key suspect in his murder case.
"At the funeral of the late Tob Cohen, I was confronted by one Patrick Muiruri, a Kiambu politician who menacingly shouted at me not to pick on his daughter, but on him, if I wanted a confrontation. Earlier on instructions from my client, I had politely requested the daughter of Muiruri to leave the cemetery as the funeral was agreed to be a private ceremony for family only,” Murgor stated in the letter.
The lawyer pointed out that the MP had to be restrained by Chege Kirundi, and Cliff Ombeta who are also advocates in the case.
Murgor believes the alleged insults and threats were attempts to intimidate him as Sarah Wairimu's lawyer. He asked the OCS through the letter to investigate the basis of the threats.
