Evictions targeting a section of people from Western Kenya in Nandi has been eclipsed with politics, with DP William Ruto and Raila Odinga's teams clashing.
Last week, over 1000 people were evicted from Chesumei constituency following a court ruling that declared them encroachers.
But Luhya leaders allied to Odinga accused DP William Ruto of going silent over the matter, adding that he will be banned from visiting Western Kenya if he doesn't act.
"I don't want to mince my words on this, I want to tell the Deputy President you are not welcome in our area if our people are being evicted from Nandi," Cleophas Malala warned.
But on Saturday, Ruto's team led by Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Caleb Kositany (Soy) and Dudmas Barasa of Kimilili faulted the court following the order.
Mr Sudi called for calmness, adding that an immediate solution is needed to be reached to save the thousands of people who have been rendered homeless.
"We urge for calm and truce even as the issue is being resolved. The court has made its decision and that shouldn't hinder us from providing amicable solution in helping our people.
"I urge those clueless leaders to avoid politics out of this and they should refrain from inciting utterances. We are committed as leaders of goodwill that residents of Kaptabongen will get their places to call home," he said.
