The 17-year-old girl died following the Sunday night incident

Speaking to journalists on Monday evening, the father Mutune Munguti described the girl as someone who was bubbly and full of life.

He noted that the gap she left could not be filled by anyone.

"We are devastated as a family. Our daughter was bright, obedient and charming," Munguti said.

"She was our great source of hope but this accident has robbed us such a promising and beautiful soul," he added.

The father narrated of how their expectations of seeing their daughter next week went down the drain after receiving the devastating news about her death.

He said that the last time he spoke to her was last week where she told him that she was doing well with her studies.

"She was in her usual excitement mood and even told me she was fairing well in her studies. We were expecting her home next week when schools close," Munguti stated with grief written all over his face.

On Monday, parents were allowed to take home their daughters except form four candidates awaiting exams.

This is after an extensive consultative meeting held at the school by educations stakeholders led by Machakos county director of education.

The incident left another girl nursing serious injuries at Machakos Level Five hospital.
