The late constable was murdered on 21st July in an alleged attack at Kamiti Corner in Nairobi.

According to a report by The Standard Media, the postmortem which was done at Kenyatta University mortuary indicated that one bullet went through his heart leading to internal bleeding. Both bullets which were shot at the chest went through his body and came out at the back.

At the time of the incident, Constable Samuel Munga was with his colleague Andrew Nabea who works as the official driver of the Meru County Speaker. Andrew Nabea who also had a bullet injury on his left leg was held as the main suspect since analysis done on his gun indicated that he had fired 20 bullets.

The car they were driving in had a single bullet hole.

Detectives plan to revisit the scene of the crime to find out from what angles the bullets were fired.

The County Media Relations officer Mercy Nthuku claimed Constable Munga and the driver were attacked by unknown assailants shortly after they dropped off the county speaker.

“We have been told that the speaker had been dropped off at his residence. The driver was dropping off the bodyguard when the assailants confronted them,” Mercy Nthuku stated as quoted by The Standard Media.

The sister of the driver is also being held as a witness in the case.
