Ministry of Education promises to make a follow up in ensuring 100℅ transitions to all form one students
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has strictly warned parents planning not to take their children to school.
He said that no candidate who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) should miss an opportunity of being enrolled in a secondary school.
Talking to residents of Nyeri County on Wednesday, Magoha asserted that the ministry would make a follow-up of all candidates in a bid to realise 100 per cent transition.
“We shall go after the parents and they will tell us why the children are not in school. If we find the children, we will take them to school ourselves and we will do it forcibly,” he said.
Magoha conveyed a notice that strict action would be taken against parents who decline to take their children to school.
“We will go for the parents of children who may have been married off early and forcibly take the children to school to ensure that all Class Eight candidates transit to secondary schools,” he affirmed.
He added that they shall combine synergies with Chiefs and other local leaders in ensuring they meet the 100 per cent transition.
“We will work with chiefs and other local administrators to spot the children who are not in school,” he posed.
