National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale has opened up what he thinks should be done to address tribalism and ethnic violence.
Through a post on his official Facebook page, Sunday, Duale said that Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) should recommend a constitutional change from a pure presidential system to a pure parliamentary system to address the two issues.
"The electoral contest should be at the constituency level and not at Bomas of Kenya and Supreme Court" read part of his post.
He also noted that Cabinet Ministers should be appointed from parliament and the press minister to be answering questions in parliament from the people's representative.
"If we maintain the presidential system, Then, ministers must come from Parliament like the French model and the office of the leader of opposition must be anchored in the constitution," added Duale.
He further said for an all-inclusive Government where all communities can participate in building the nation and running of the state affairs, ethnic political lobbying, and post-election violence, BBI should recommend a referendum that will initiate a pure west minister model of a pure parliamentary system.
Duale's sentiments come barely days after a group of Mt Kenya politicians vowed to oppose the BBI report should it root for a parliamentary system.
