The ex-president was allegedly rushed to the Nairobi Hospital over the weekend where he was admitted.

Although his family claimed he was fine and had just gone for a routine medical check-up, a section of the netizens has found it hard to believe that all is well.

A number of the Kenyans on Twitter demanded an official statement to be released on the health status of Kenya's longest-serving president.

They argued that the government needed to issue the statement so as to avoid rumours from spreading on social media.

A group of the netizens nonetheless insisted that the former president was in good condition and therefore there was no need to worry.

The government has not addressed the claims that have raised over the admission of the former President Moi.

Retired President Mwai Kibaki's Private Secretary Ngari Gituku also issued a statement clarifying that the former president had not been admitted at Nairobi Hospital.

According to reports from the Nation, Kibaki had visited the hospital for a routine check-up
