The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) has announced that it is searching for a census enumerator who was filmed while dancing happily with children.
According to a tweet from KNBS, they want to celebrate the enumerator for putting a smile on the children's faces.
"You showed up put in the work, and put a smile on someone's face, we celebrate you today. Anyone with information that could help us celebrate this Enumerator Kindly inbox. Thank you!," KNBS tweeted on Saturday.
The video shows children who are excited to see census enumerators and consequently begin singing while jumping up.
One of the enumerators then left his colleagues and joined the kids in the dance.
"People of census! People of census! People of census! (Watu wa census! Watu wa Census! Watu wa Census!)," the kids sang happily in the video tat KNBS shared on Twitter.
The gesture was warmly received by Kenyans on social media as the video went viral. The move by the enumerator to spare some time for the kids has been seen as being a kind one.
It has diluted some of the controversial news that had been received earlier on including one which a female census enumerator was gang-raped in Maseno.
