Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando has fired back at Elgeyo Marakwe Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who on Monday said that Deputy President Dr William Ruto is not an employee of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kabando agreed that the president and his deputy had come together to unite the Kikuyu and Kalenjin nations but that alliance had been made unholy because of corruption, attempts to sabotage President Uhuru among other things.
"Granted, “DP not employee of President”. Granted, “willingly came together” to reconcile Kikuyus & Kalenjins in wake of PEV/ICC. We endorsed. CREDIT to UhuRuto on that. But for graft, intolerance, arrogance, alienation’s, sabotaging President, ALLIANCE is UNHOLY. No deodorant, " the former legislator said in a tweet, Monday.
Politicians supporting the head of state and those supporting his deputy have been trading strong words on social media in an escalating war of words that shows no signs of abating.
Ruto has come under blistering criticism over what his critics say is his disrespect for the president by holding political rallies across the country in total defiance to the head of state.
Pushing back, the DP's allies have told off the critics, saying that the country's second in command does not serve at the pleasure of the president, highlighting growing divisions with the governing Jubilee party.
