In a tweet on Thursday, Ndolo, a human rights advocate recalled trying the same with the then Chief Justice Willy Mutunga during a forum at the Serena Hotel four years ago.

He said that he was trying to explain a point to the judicial chief, but was severely reprimanded by Mutunga, who insisted that such an act was a show of inferiority and weakness.

In an indirect shot at Raila, Ndolo said that it is easy to tell a man's character when in power, apparently referring to the ODM leader who sat still and watched the deejay kneeling before him.

"I was trying to stress a point to CJ Willy Mutunga at Serena poolside one day in 2015 when I went on a knee. The Chief Justice immediately reprimanded me, said it looked like I was begging for a favor and I should never do that. It’s easy to tell a man’s character when in power," he wrote in the tweet.

Kriss Darlin has since denied begging Raila for an endorsement, saying that he was merely seeking his blessings.

The incident happened only several months after images emerged showing Kisumu Deputy Governor Mathews Owilli and Kisumu County Assembly Majority Leader Kenneth Onyango kneeling before Raila
