This is after DCI arrested several locals in Segemian area for allegedly building houses for the Mau Forest evictees.

In a video shared by the Nation on Tuesday, Ng'eno was at the DCI offices to make a follow up of those arrested and others from Melelo that had summoned over claims that they had illegally obtained land.

"I believe the office of the DCI must be the idlest arm of government," said the MP in part of the video

"This tendency of following up people who have no mistakes makes some people look like they have no work to do. (Kwa sababu hii maneno ya kufuata watu ambao hawana hatia ndio tunaona yakwamba watu wengine wameshindwa na kazi ya kufanya)," he added.

The MP said it was not right for the DCI to summon the people and demand letters of verification from them since the government did not make a follow-up when over 10,000 Mau evictees were sent away from the forest.

He said as leaders, they had to look for an alternative solution to shelter the evictees as they wait for the government to regain its sobriety.

So far, they have secured 20 acres of land in Segemian,15 acres in Olulunga,10 acres in Melelo and 23 acres in Sogoo where houses for the evictees were built.

Ng'eno now wants the government to give land to the evictees instead of arresting them.
